Men's Breakfast Bible Study
We meet on the second Saturday of each month at 7 am for a hardy breakfast and bible study.
Breakfast at 7am - Bible study at 7:30 - Home by 9am
A great way to start the weekend!

Men’s Bible Study:
Zion’s monthly Men’s Breakfast began a study series called “HIS Way or Our Way,” which uses Luther’s Small Catechism to provide a framework to study the Bible, learn about our faith and discuss how it is applied to the issues we encounter in everyday life.
This new version of the Catechism includes abundant Bible references in the explanations to the Ten Commandments, Apostles’ Creed, the Lord’s Prayer, the Sacrament of the Altar, and the Sacrament of Baptism.
Looking
forward to November 14th:
The next session on November 14th will begin the discussion on the Ten Commandments (up through the Third Commandment. (see pages 54--67) See Bruce Merle to purchase your copy of the Catechism. They are $11.
We welcome men of every age and background to join us the second Saturday of the month at 7:00 am in the Parish House for breakfast followed by class and discussion on “HIS Way or Our Way”. Our hope is that the fellowship will be a support to you and the study will be an inspiration as you seek to live out your faith in your family and community.
September
12th Wrap Up:
The September class addressed basic logistics and our approach to conducting the new study series. Not everyone in the group studied the Catechism on joining the church, so we will be going through it methodically, section by section. This will help us build a shared foundation and improve our confidence in discussing the tenets of our faith with our children and each other. For each topic we will be considering three questions: a) How would you summarize this section in your own words? b) What changes in the interpretation of this section have you experienced over the years? And c) Why is this section important for today’s Christians? We are still assembling a list of current topics that we want to explore. One thought is to contrast what we see as important to the strengthening of our faith with what is being advocated by the Center for Progressive Christianity. Where do we agree? Where do we disagree? How does the debate inform us?
We also decided that such a serious discussion will
require a greater commitment of time, so we have agreed to run the
monthly meetings from 7 to 9 (with 30 minutes for breakfast and
fellowship and 90 minutes for study and discussion.)
We will be using emails, newsletter and Horizon articles, and a
