High School Summer Mission 2010
Dear Parents and High School Students:
We would like to introduce Youthmark Mission Ventures as our coordinator
of our 2010 Summer Mission Trip. Our mission trip will take us to a few
rural communities in the Northwest (over the border) from July 9th to
July 17th. Our daily schedule on this trip will vary but we hope to be
involved with Vacation Bible School, service projects around town and
fellowship with the local students.
• Where do I Begin?
Each student desiring to be a part of our summer mission is required to
first complete the following:
1. Pray diligently; we invite you to include your family in this
process. Turn in written application and deposit. You will receive a
copy of story: Mission Prep Workbook upon receipt of a $50 deposit.
2. Begin working on story: Mission Prep Workbook.
• Deposit and Total Cost:
The $50 deposit, sent to Zion Church, marked “High School Summer Mission
Trip” we hope, will be your only out of pocket expense. We are trusting
the Lord with the fundraising process. The approximate cost for the
mission is $400. This will cover all of your travel, lodging, food,
t-shirt, training materials and much more.
In fact, not only will you receive multiple booklets through the
training, mission and at the conclusion of the mission, but you’ll also
have your tuition covered for a Spring Retreat. Your account (through
fundraising) should have a total of $400 before June 15. All of the
fundraising efforts will be explained to you through our team times and
through story.
• Mission Workbook and Mission Goal
Appointments:
After turning in your
application
and deposit you will receive your copy of the mission prep workbook
entitled story. This book contains “Pods” (spiritual discipline
activities). I would personally like to sit down with each participant
and be sure we’re on the same page as to the expectations. Besides
looking at story, this will give me a time to answer any questions you
(or your parents) may have and give me the opportunity to ask you any
follow up questions I may have after reading your application. I will
have a sign up sheet for these appointments at Sunday School.
• Travel:
We will be traveling by van and private auto on July 9th. The return
date should be Saturday, July 17th.
